DEPARTMENT OBJECTIVES
The Social Sciences and Humanities Department intends to accomplish the following:
- Produce effective institutional leaders and efficient individuals who would facilitate and participate in social awareness in the society;
- Equip students with knowledge, skills, attitudes, values necessary to become efficient social advocates in a dynamic society;
- Conduct relevant researches in the different areas of social sciences and humanities to enrich a humane society;
- Provide relevant community services to disseminate social responsiveness for its improvement and development;
- Cultivate strong sense and a renewed understanding of what nationalism is all about;
- Develop alternative humane approaches for diverse and multicultural learners; and
- Evaluate socio-political issues that lead to the development of national consciousness.
PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES FOR BSPSYC
The Bachelor of Psychology Program intends to:
- Produce graduates who can apply psychological principles in analyzing structures of society;
- Systematically equip students with foundation of theories and practice for real-life activities, research, and extension;
- Yield critical thinkers and creative workers for professional global competitiveness in educational, industrial, and clinical settings;
- Cultivate professionally competent, morally upright, and socially responsible individuals exposed to various psychological situations; and
- Hone future psychometricians, psychologists, counselors, human resource managers, educators, and other psychological-helping professionals able to respond to the demands of growing society.
